Every year, Hongda allocates 5% - 8% of the sales income as the R&D fund to develop new products. Now 1860 x 750 x 480 motor core multiple positions progressive die of over 3.5 t weight and 1400 x 1400 x 38 motor lamination single position compound die of over 2.5 t weight have been developed successfully in Hongda.

The Large Precision Punching Die for Long Stator Motor Core Lamination of Magnetic Suspension Train developed and manufactured by Hongda has passed the technical appraisal of Ningbo Municipal Economic Committee, which is assessed by Chinese Association of Mold and Die Industry as State Class New Product, and assessed by the expert group as a die of international advanced level on the 9th China International Mould and Die Technology and Equipment Exhibition. Hongda holds the practical new type patent for its newly developed Long Stator Core Progressive Die for Linear Motor of Magnetic Suspension Train. The Motor Core Hard Alloy Multiple positions Progressive Die with Automatic Overlapping-Riveting has passed the technical appraisal by Ningbo Municipal Authority, which is also assessed by Chinese Technical Committee of Mold and Die Industry as State Class New Product and assessed as Die of International Standard on the 10th China International Mold and Die Technology and Equipment Exhibition. It wins the first prize of Precision Die on the 11th China International Mold and Die Technology and Equipment Exhibition. The lasting series of motor silicon steel sheet punching die wins the Zhejiang Provincial Second Prize of Advancement in Science and Technology.
